Swix Performance Knit Headband is a lightweight technical headband for brisk cross-country ski training. It covers the ears without the full coverage of a hat and suits skiers whose heads warm up quickly during exercise.

Moisture-wicking polyknit fabric and four-way stretch provide a close fit. Flatlock seams reduce seam bulk, and printed logos finish the look. The headband also works for running and other active sports.

• For tempo sessions and intervals: a headband is an alternative to a hat when the head runs warm but the ears need coverage. Wind matters too: sheltered forest trails and exposed lake crossings are different conditions.
• Hat for warm-up, headband for the start: one item need not serve both. If a hat feels too warm at race pace, a headband can suit the effort and a warmer hat the warm-up.
• More coverage for easy freezing-weather outings: a headband leaves the crown exposed. For easy skiing or long sections into a headwind, even a thin ski hat may be the better choice.
• With ski glasses: a close-fitting headband pairs naturally with eyewear. Check that the edge and arm tips don’t create pressure points around the ears.
