What is this?

This is a replacement Twin Skin grip strip for traditional racing skis. This Wide version is made of 100% mohair and is neon yellow in color, which guarantees both visibility and excellent grip in various conditions - especially in hard and icy conditions.

Ski skin replacement

1. Check for wear and tear.

   • If the skin has thinned, the nap has worn smooth, or the grip has weakened → it's time to replace it.

   • The average lifespan is approximately 1000–1500 km, but it depends on skiing habits and weather conditions.

2. Detachment

   • Warm it up a little (e.g., with a hairdryer on low heat) to soften the adhesive surface of the old skin.

   • Pull the skin off evenly – start from the tip or the base, don't tear sideways.

3. Platform cleaning

   • Carefully remove old glue residue → use a cleaning agent (e.g., skin cleaning solution or ski maintenance remover).

   • Wipe dry before installing a new one.

4. Installing a new skin.

   • Align the new skin precisely with the groove.

   • Start from one end and proceed evenly, pressing the skin tightly all the way.

   • Allow the adhesive surface to set for at least overnight at room temperature, if possible.

🧽 Skincare

1. Regular cleaning

   • Use the cleaning spray every few ski runs.

   • Removes dirt, salt residue and old lubricant residue → improves grip, maintains glide.

2. Skin lubrication (anti-ice / anti-dirt)

   • Use skin spray or liquid → prevents freezing in wet weather and reduces dirt accumulation.

   • Apply a thin layer and let it dry for a few minutes.

3. Freeze prevention at zero degrees Celsius

   • With moist, wet snow, the skin may freeze → use anti-ice treatment or fluorine-free glide products for the skin.

💡 Keep the cleaning agent + skin shampoo in the cream pack – regular maintenance can extend the service life by up to two times.
