XC Ski Guru — a ski that works in the right conditions

We’re a new Finnish cross-country ski shop serving you with a customer-first approach in-store and online — including international customers. We build the right-performing ski just for you — the right ski + the right grind + the right gear = from the very first glide.

Every ski is selected according to the skier’s weight, technique and preferred conditions. When these are in balance, the ski performs exactly as it should — confidence and enjoyment in every kick.

We provide a satisfaction guarantee. You may return the ski within 14 days of purchase if you’re not satisfied — as long as it’s in like-new condition.

Ski selection and measuring

1) The right ski for you

Every skier has a ski that fits — and finding it starts with an individual analysis. We consider physical variables (weight, height, body proportions), skiing style, skill level and the conditions you ski in.

We test and measure every ski before delivery to ensure glide and grip are on point from your very first outing. That’s the core of XC Ski Guru — not chance, but a setup verified by calculation and practical testing.

Gear for cross-country skiing

2) Gear for cross-country skiing

The right ski matters, but the whole system wins. That’s why we offer only gear that meets race-level standards — functional, durable and adaptable to conditions.

The range includes everything you need: skis, boots, poles, apparel and wax. All brands are tested in practice, from Nordic cold to humid Alpine weather.

Refurbishing and repair

3) Refurbishing & repair of old skis

Even great skis need care. Bases wear or dry out — but performance can be restored.

We refurbish, grind and repair old skis — both base structure and bindings. A serviced ski is faster, more secure and lasts longer. We use the same precise, repeatable and proven methods as for new skis.

Race waxing & service

4) Race waxing & race service

We test waxes and structures to match the conditions, then grind and finish the ski based on weather and snow crystal structure. The goal: confident, durable glide and performance you can rely on.

Why we’ve chosen Fischer skis

Fischer

For decades, Fischer has been the clear number one at major championships — not by accident. The constructions are consistent, easy to grind and predictable across conditions.

For us, that means two things: the ski works better and is easier to service. When the manufacturer controls quality, our grinding and waxing repeat precisely. Fischer is our choice for reliability — in Nordic and Alpine conditions alike.

We service skis of all brands, even though our selection of new skis consists exclusively of Fischer.

Ski grinding — process & ordering

Ski grinding — workflow

XC Ski Guru’s grinding is based on a method developed by Kimmo Vilén, tested and refined for over 30 years. He has contributed to many championship successes as a wax and grind guru where tiny margins decide.

  1. Analysis & measurement (base, structure)
  2. Structure selection for the conditions
  3. Precision grinding at micron level
  4. Finishing, brushing & cleaning
  5. Test: glide surface & evenness
