Its optimal range is -20 to -2 °C with low snow humidity of 0–25%.

Swix Crystal Shield Technology creates a hard and smooth glide surface designed to reduce contact and friction against fine, sharp snow crystals.

Technical specifications

Select PF25 primarily according to snow crystal type and snow humidity, not temperature alone.

It performs best in cold, dry, fine-grained fresh snow where sharp crystals can create considerable base friction. For old, coarse or artificial snow, a Swix PC-series powder is generally the better choice.

Apply an even layer to the glide zone and melt it in with a waxing iron at approximately 160 °C. Allow the ski to cool completely before scraping.

Brush carefully until the base structure is fully open, then finish with a fine nylon polish for a clean race-ready surface.
